At this time (8:20pm) island fire departments are responding to a working structure fire in the vicinity of Centre Street & Delaware Avenue in Beach Haven. Updates to follow…

(8:37pm) reports that the fire has been “knocked down”.
(8:41pm) reports that the fire has been “knocked down overall”.
(8:46pm) Atlantic City Electric has responded to the scene.
(8:48pm) Stafford Twp. fire units have been released from the scene.
(8:56pm) Gas company on the scene with all utilities secured.
(9:00pm) End of updates for the night

A chilly winter day on LBI and not much action for surfer’s either.

Today’s feature:  Beach Haven’s Holyoke Avenue Jetty, one of NJ’s most famous surfing spots.

Just another lazy, hazy day at the shore.

Lots and lots of sea shells on the beaches today with an ocean water temperature of 70 degrees.  The air temperature is in the mid-70s as well.

Picture below is possibly LBI’s best surfing beach, Holyoke Avenue in Beach Haven.  As you can tell by the pictures today is not a good surfing day.
