A rainy, dreary day here at the shore.

Pictured below is 79th Street in Harvey Cedars.  This is the location where the storm of 1962 broke through Long Beach Island causing a 40 foot wide, 20 foot deep inlet to form.  Looks like it survived 2012′s Hurricane Sandy pretty well.

Nov. 19th

We’ve all seen the media hype about the “devastation” and “war zone” here on LBI.  Well, here are some pictures from Surf City earlier today – decide for yourself.

Remember – these pictures are all POST-SANDY.

Also, LOTS OF BUSINESSES ON LBI ARE NOW OPEN! I have personally verified each of the following are OPEN:

Ocean County Library (Surf City), Surf City Pharmacy, 7-11 (Ship Bottom), The Dutchman’s Brauhaus, The Engleside Inn, Greenhouse Cafe, Ship Bottom, NJ, Surf City Hotel, 4-Bees Polish American Deli, Tuckerton Lumber Company, CVS (Ship Bottom), Surf Barber Shop, Tiffany’s Salon & Spa.

Sunday, Nov. 11

The following pictures are from the Surf City area taken on Sunday, November 11th.

Monday, November 5

Here’s some pics from around the Surf City area taken on November 5th, after Sandy but before the Nov. 7th Nor’easter.
